Artistic videos, more substantial and detailed, accompanied by an original soundtrack and meticulously crafted.

On this page, I've collected some of the most successful personal projects I've worked on, which, in my opinion, best represent my work style. For each of these, I oversaw the entire creation process, from modeling the details and subjects to managing textures and materials, and finally, editing. I believe that constantly experimenting with something new is the key to growing and pushing one's limits further. If you want to stay updated on all my projects, follow me on my Instagram channel!

Info

If you're curious or have questions about 3D, or my work as a 3D Artist in particular, this section might help you find the answers you're looking for. Below, you'll find descriptions of all the essential steps I follow to create a video or render, as well as some frequently asked questions. If you don't find what you're looking for, feel free to contact me with any other requests!

F.A.Q.

3D rendering is the process of generating two-dimensional images or videos from a three-dimensional model using specialized software. With a 3D video, you can tell stories, show, surprise, instruct, attract, and much more...

Blender is the program I use for creating renders and videos, a versatile open-source software applicable to practically any 3D animation need. To support my work as a 3D Artist, I also use other Adobe software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, Premiere, and Media Encoder. Other programs I use include InDesign, DreamWeaver, FreeCad, and XD. I would also like to experiment more with Substance Painter and Unreal Engine.

Sure, it's possible to design videos using previously created 3D models, but if needed, I can also handle the modeling. If you need to provide files of an already created design, please refer to the next question regarding the file formats that can be provided.

I accept a variety of formats, including .obj, .STL, .fbx, and .blend. The choice depends on the specific project needs. Regarding .STEP and all formats from parametric programs, a conversion will be necessary.

For quotes, collaborations, or any questions, you can contact me directly via my email found in the contact section.

The timelines for completing a project are difficult to assess in advance due to the number of project variables. However, I tend to allow for a broad timeline: between 7 and 10 days for a 1-minute video with medium difficulty.

As with timelines, costs vary based on the complexity of the project. For a precise quote, contact me with the details of your project.

Yes, I accept requests for post-rendering changes. However, any changes may affect the costs and significantly extend the delivery times.

STEP VIDEO-RENDER

The initial design phase for a 3D video, similar to that of a traditional video, requires drafting a storyboard or script. This essential document allows for visualizing the narrative progression, key shots, and crucial moments of the story. The storyboard can take the form of concise and descriptive sentences, serving as a fundamental practice for both artistic and commercial projects. During this phase, it is imperative to establish the video's objectives, identify publication channels, and determine the desired resolution and frame rate. This detailed approach ensures a clear guide for video production, optimizing its effectiveness both narratively and technically.

After the storyboard phase, the production process intensifies with modeling. During this phase, the meshes and shapes that will be visible in the video are created, along with rigs and armatures that act as "skeletons" to animate objects and characters. In cases where the video includes subjects or products previously designed, it is essential to convert, adapt, and prepare them for animation. This process is particularly relevant when dealing with formats from parametric software, such as .STEP, which require conversion. It is important to confirm the file attributes once the conversion is complete. This phase not only involves creating visual elements but also preparing key components for the subsequent animation phase. Accurate conversion and attribute confirmation are crucial to ensuring a smooth transition to the next stage of 3D video production.

After completing and optimizing the subject for animation, the next step is placing it within a scene. The virtual setting can range from a landscape to a virtual void, depending on the specific needs of the animation. It's important to note that animations with transparent backgrounds can be generated, offering flexibility in content presentation. Scene creation is a crucial aspect of the 3D video production process, as it significantly contributes to the atmosphere and overall visual impact of the animation.

In the creative process of scenes and animations, materials and textures form an inseparable pair. Materials, managing an object's properties, determine its response to light, reflectivity, and transparency. On the other hand, textures are represented by images or data assigned to the surfaces of objects to define their appearance and influence their visual properties. This essential dyad of materials and textures forms the heart of visual creation in 3D contexts. Through careful management of materials, it is possible to shape the aesthetics and lighting of scenes, while the skillful application of textures adds unique details and characteristics to objects, enriching the overall visual experience.

The animation phase represents the peak in creating a video, distinguishing it from a simple render. Approaching this phase, particular attention must be paid to the creation of subjects to prevent potential issues, such as penetrations or lighting errors. While such inconveniences are easily correctable in a single render, they can become complex to manage in a video. During the animation phase, the insertion of "poses" on keyframes within a timeline is crucial. These poses form the foundation for generating movements, bringing the visual narrative to life. Precision in this phase not only contributes to smooth movements but also reduces the likelihood of visual inconveniences throughout the entire animated sequence.

The camera is the eye through which the operator captures and stabilizes the image on a visual medium. In the 3D context, this dynamic remains unchanged, but traditional film and camera are replaced by a virtual camera. This virtual camera offers the freedom of movement in the virtual environment and allows customization of all the characteristics of a real camera, including focal length, focus, and exposure. Through this transition to 3D, artists and operators can leverage a wide range of options to create distinctive visual effects. The ability to precisely adjust parameters such as focal length and focus offers complete control over the visual outcome, enriching the viewer's experience with detailed and targeted perspectives.

In this phase, the animation comes to life through the rendering process, which involves the virtual camera in creating a sequence of images frame by frame. The timing of this phase can vary significantly, influenced by several factors such as resolution, the number of objects in the scene, overall complexity, and the realism of materials and textures. The complexity and duration of the animation are often proportional to the rendering times, with more intricate scenarios and longer durations requiring longer rendering periods. This is especially true in relation to the desired quality and detail, as rendering more realistic materials and textures may require additional computational resources.

In this phase, the "magic" of production happens. Rendered frames come to life through assembly, forming a smooth and dynamic animation. This process involves careful evaluation of cuts and edits of the selected scenes, as well as the inclusion of music and sound effects. It is important to note that including music requires the payment of licensing fees. In this creative phase, essential elements such as descriptive texts, titles, images, and logos are added, contributing to defining the overall visual experience. Attention to detail in this phase not only enhances visual impact but also helps effectively convey the desired message.

During the editing phase, extended possibilities open up for modification, not only of the structure but also of the rendering properties. This is where photographic filters can be applied, reflections can be added, or contrasts and lighting can simply be enhanced to align the animation with the mood required by the sequence. This refinement phase offers an additional level of creative control, allowing for more accurate optimization of the visual appearance. Through the application of filters and the adjustment of rendering properties, every detail can be perfected, contributing to achieving a final result in harmony with the desired atmosphere.

After all the previous phases are completed, all that remains is to export the video in the desired format, such as H.264 or MOV. At this point, the video will be ready to be shared and distributed. The export phase represents the final step in the production process, transforming the finely crafted animation into a complete video file ready for viewing. This final phase further simplifies the process, providing a final version ready to be shared across various channels and platforms.
